I have a question about IBR. If I sit on IBR for 10-15 yrs then start making 200k a year plus where I no longer qualify for IBR and make minimum payments instead... Will my shit still get forgiven after 25 yrs or as soon as you're out of IBR are you essentially debt pwned by all the interest accrued during IBR... does interest accrue during IBR?

Thanks brothers.

Depending on debt isn't it possible to be on ibr while making over six figures?

People keep saying as long as you don't default you can stay on IBR regardless of income.

You just pay the maximum allowed, which is the 10-year repayment. But you stay in the system.

Thanks this is Cr...

The making 200k a year thing isn't flame. At the shitlaw firm I'm currently at the partners all make between 200-300k a year. In this area of law in this area it's fairly common for many solos or small firm doods to make this kind of money... cost of living is pretty retardedly expensive too, but I'm just trying to figure out how to milk dat IBR. sittin on IBR for 25 yrs doesn't seem too bad.

Do loans/IBR ruin you if trying to get house do to already being leveraged or do lenders not really care as long as payments are factored into income?

That I can't answer. I've seen people with loans claiming they've been denied and others insist they got a home loan with no problems.

Would like to know myself.

you'd be on 20 year IBR if you're not in public sector. your loan payments get larger over time so it does kinda suck, especially if yo're making 300k? that's like 2Gs, or more.

Well you do have to "qualify" for IBR. I used this calculator and did find with that income you could qualify for a 994 IBR payment with 100k in debt and a wife and 3 children.

By yourself, you wouldn't qualify.
