Nope. This chill dude that works at my office finds every single violation. It's never baseless.
In fact, he took professional responsibility and THREE professional responsibility ELECTIVES.
Especially in civil litigation, theres ALWAYS something that the opposing counsel does that's sanctionable. Oh yeah, you sent me the interrogatories on the 5th? Well the judge in the preliminary conference said the 3rd. SANCTIONS.
Oh yea? Those invoices AREN'T backdated? Did you do your due diligence as an attorney to confirm that? No? SANCTIONS.
We rarely win but it's always a relief when I look on the calendar and we have an appearance to ARGUE our motion for sanctions briefs.

But what's funny (said it below) is that these things NEVER get granted. The standard is SO HIGH.
Shitlawyers, LOL about it when they get it and love it because it's one of the few PERSONAL filings in all of civil litigation and it's usually a fun pissing contest.
Biglawyers are so uptight.

Absolutely. Life altering.
I have no idea how dudes who didn't get jobs live.
If I give up, it would be easier. I can IBR, get it forgiven.
But I actually want a decent life so I'll do whatever it takes I guess.

TCR. All you ever hear is aspie law students afraid of sanctions and malpractice.
LOL judges NEVER grant these things. EVER. Once in a while you'll get lucky. The one time we got lucky was when this aspie kept referring to caselaw whenever the judge asked HIM about HIS conduct. Finally, she just said ENOUGH and ended the argument and we got a favorable decision on ecourts a month later.

If you don't win, why do you move for sanctions against OC?
Is it just for the lulz?
If so, do you worry about souring relationships?

LOL at relationships with midlaw/biglaw attorneys.
I move for sanctions DURING the proceeding (most of the time) the SECOND an attorney is late, doesn't do his due diligence, etc.
Never three strikes...you get zero strikes with me.
It's ALWAYS legit too because of my law student bro who makes sure every filing is backed with precedent. One day late on discovery? SANCTIONS.

Our printing company for our appeals is TTT. When the record had to be filed, I gave it to them TWO WEEKS before our perfection date.
They ended up filing it at 4:40 the due date. I almost lost my hair. Yet we pay them close to $3,000 to handle the appeal. They also offer us very little advice on the requirements.
I've done a few appeals and at this point, I know the state appellate requirements pretty good. Would it be a HUGE risk for my next appeal to do it myself? Go to kinkos/a printing company and get it printed and bound myself? Save $3000 for the firm and a lot of headaches?
It seems like using a printing company is standard for some reason.
U have any experience on this?

Do you file for sanctions over their OBJECTIONS to Discovery?
To you ask the court for any and all other remedies that justice requires?

This has to be flame and of course it is because this is johns meyer. Nothing would fuck your ass quicker in the legal community than this.
Though in atlanta th3re was this raging asshole that not only regulalry did tuis he had a habit of suing the law firm representing the opposing party. The pro of this is that he built a mid size firm full of assholes who got all the crazies who wanted a lawyer who would "really fight for their RIGHTS!" The downside was every lawyer in town hated his fucking guts and would literally pool resources to attempt to destroy him ( oh he sued you huh? Heres some pleadings from when he sued me that take an inconsistent position; here is a motion I won against him for sanctions, etc) He had a nervous breakdown at 58 and just up and flew to california to some mental hospital and his firm dissolved.
