I understand that arlington is as close as it gets to living in dc without actually living there, but better to just save yourself the trouble and live on the other side of the river. if you aren't a 16 year old girl, you should be able to handle the "danger" of living in a big city and should be able to find cheaper rent within the city limits than in arlington. these places are filled with the same lawyers and gov't types that populate all the other places in DC. the city lacks the low paid "creative class" artsy types that places like the mission, williamsburg, and other hipster areas have.
i don't think that an interest in non completely mainstream restaurants/bars is enough to qualify one as a hipster. |
