I got a mac mini, $500 bucks, 10 dollar digital antenna. Also have my parents cable login.
Can stream CNN in HD for free with the login. Split a netflix account with 4 people, so its like free. Get ESPN streaming in HD, and NBC sports with the cable login. Analog antenna gets CBS/Fox in HD. I split an MLB account with 2 buddies, like 40 bucks a season, all baseball games in HD.
The rest I just stream. Big soccer games, NFL redzone, any college game I want. Usually not HD quality but this isn't 2009,most streams work perfectly fine never cut in and out or lag, can easily read everything on screen etc etc.
Then HBO shows or mad men etc I just torrent. Torrents are often up before the show even airs, I'm often watching it on 30 min delay at the worst.
There is NO FUCKING REASON to pay for cable. I think it's actueally a worse viewing expirence because it almost makes you watch shit you don't even want to see. Like right now, im watching baseball in HD flipping through games. On Tv I would have just one game to watch and if it sucks then I'm back to channel surfing or sports center. |

Want soccer check out firstrow, baseball vipbox. I never search for shit, takes me 10 seconds to pull up a watchable stream. Torrents are just as quick.
It sounds really cheap but for 100 a month i can have 2 good beers and smoke a jay everytime i watch tv. |

Streaming sucks, the the internet to tv interface is still a pain in the ass. Even Netflix interface sucks because you have to constantly serch through their menus and it ends up taking 20 minutes before you settle on something to watch. |
