Date: August 4th, 2013 5:25 PM Author: purple site useless brakes I knew some people who got friends to tell them the games, then took the sabbath takers LSAT (the EXACT same LSAT minus the practice section just a few days later) - so not only did they do the test WITHOUT ANY PRACTICE section, they had a leg up on the games.
Holy shit if I knew that you could do that I'd have gotten a full ride to some awesome places. |

I'm pretty sure that all of those people matriculated to law school so I think they are already fucked career wise though. |

Date: August 4th, 2013 5:47 PM Author: purple site useless brakes What I think is hilarious about the LSAT is that it claims to be a "standardized" test but then it allows one group of people to take a shortened version that is 100% relevant and then penalizes a vastly larger pool of test takers by having only 80% of the thing count while exhausting them mentally on a garbage section.
I think it would be a lot more fair to include a couple questions per section that were dummy ones and maybe one game or something like that.
I am 100% sure if you control for regular LSAT and sabbath LSAT you will see the scores being significantly higher for the short form version.
Also the extended time for LS exams is ridiculous as well.
The whole system can be gamed from LSAT to getting your JD by people with enough meta know-how and the will to do it. Especially if they don't intend to practice and can grab a cushy consulting or corporate finance gig or something from HYS. |

I wish they would give students the alternative of studying a corpus of material, basic legal principals, and force them to write a five page exam about a hypothetical or a case- that would assess their reading comprehension, ability to apply rules, writing skill and logical reasoning. |
