It's the deflategate nonesense, the concussion discussion, domestic violence ranting, Thursday night games, discussions of if Thursday night games are bad, draft coverage, free agent coverage, nonstop coverage of if a 2-11 coach will be fired, etc.
They've created an entire industry around talking about the NFL, and the result has been to de-value the actual games themselves. The Broncos won the Super Bowl and were declared "losers" a week later because they lost the all important Brock Osweiler sweepstakes. |

I had always been confused about why people enjoy watching it so much, until I realized that most people don't actually enjoy watching it. They wanted to see big crashes between dudes, but other than that, could have been reading a ticker tape of the results with little impact. This is why people are so into fantasy, more into the numbers than what's actually going on on the field. |
