Appropriate Number Of "Speeches" For Wedding Reception?

we dont wanna bore people w stupid speeches. is that okay? |

3-5 minutes, under 10 at most if they're actually funny. BM/MOH think they will be, but usually aren't. you desperately want to avoid mother of the bride or aunt from screeching for 35 minutes while everybody's food is getting cold. |

Date: July 27th, 2017 12:16 PM Author: misanthropic iridescent black woman house as pointed out below, MOH speeches are fucking terrible. that said, they're one of those necessary evils at a reception. the speeches are anecdotes about the couple from their peers growing up, and then the father's perspective for giving the bride away.
just make sure MOH knows to shut her trap after 3 minutes. |

you CAN do MOH, but imo you have to do BM. way more traditional, and he will speak for the groom in the way the FOB will speak for the bride. and BM speeches are almost always better than MOH speeches. |

Try to keep it to two speeches each 2-3 minutes max, unless someone actually knows how to speak publicly which I doubt. |
