I'm describing my lack of privilege from a perspective of race. You can draw privilege from any damn thing you want. I don't know what point you're trying to make. It was basically a fluke I knew the ivy league existed (and would give me grants to attend for being poor). My own fucking guidance counselor had no idea and told me to apply to OSU. My chance at attending brown was already absurdly low, how the fuck are you going to try to say my chance was higher than anyone of any race in my same position?

You take an equally smart black or Hispanic kid and he'll be WAY more likely to get in. The variable there is knowing he should apply, which I - again - only knew on a fluke of googling. No family or friends or teachers told me to do anything.
