1. Coinbase claimed "you have violated the terms of contract" or some nonsense, and my account was deleted. ETH was around 40 at the time.

2. Bittrex claimed "your account has been deleted" and when I tried emailing them through their website, my ticket would not be processed since "no account exists registered to that email." LOL.

I lost $4,000 to Coinbase and $37 to Bittrex.

My banks ended up processing the withdrawals to Coinbase as a fraud and they refunded my money to me (but Coinbase made away with 4k).

Stories like mine abound all over reddit/the internet. I was only unlucky enough for it to happen twice.
