There's some evidence that it can cause modest wage growth (immigration works on both demand and supply side people often forget) but it's largely a wash.
The point is that we should be dedicating political capital to ideas that may actually help solve the problem instead of this giant distraction. |

If poors didn't have jobs before and are now reentering the labor force in low paying jobs (some of which may have previously been held by undocumented people etc), they'd bring down the average. People in supervisory positions making more money also supports the idea that employees have more leverage. |

But anyway supervisory of 0.2 is not a win. That's stagnant wages. There's really no room here to claim wages are actually getting a boom but the stats don't reflect it. |

Date: July 19th, 2018 12:38 PM Author: Sinister indigo international law enforcement agency I don't know about what you allege usually happens in a "good" economy to unskilled entry level workers, but I'm suggesting that the low tier workers finally getting jobs after more competent people have been working and improving their track record throughout the recession might indeed bring down the average, especially if some of the people formerly in those jobs are promoted to supervisory positions (many of which would also be low paying for supervisory positions as they're entry level supervisory positions.)
It looks to me like we're growing the pie, largely by hiring for more low wage jobs. That sounds better and less expensive and more productive than these people not having jobs. |
