It of course hides how small of a percentage of Native American DNA her test found (people won't easily glean this from the 6 to 10 generations part), and tries its best to suggest that Warren was correct about her ancestry the entire time.
It then tries to appear "unbiased" by including the quotes of the Cherokee people, but doesn't use anything actually damning.

it's bullshit.
"Warren stated that she had listed herself as a minority to meet people of similar heritage, and was unaware that Harvard had listed her as a woman of color."
It was the fucking AALS hiring directory -- and it was the only place outside of Pow Wow Chow she listed herself as NA. If her goal was just to meet NA people rather to signal in the employment context, there are about 10,000 ways she might have done that -- including, of course, just meeting NA people and hanging out with them, which she has *never once done.*

cr. minority status goes "without saying"and without explicit discussion.
but if you want to see if that factor is material, compare tenure profs without minority status to ones with minority status. look at their ug, their law school, and their article III clerkships, and you will see a massive difference at almost all schools. at most schools, minority profs get a big break.
as for Warren, she was U of Houston, Rutgers, no clerkship. wiki lists no academic honors. after getting her JD she worked from home doing real estate closings. to put it mildly, that is not the stuff of non-minority HLS profs. she was made professor at a time when HLS was getting absolutely blasted for not having a single WOC on the faculty. and HLS immediately began referring to her as their WOC.
from wiki:
"As of 2011, she was the only tenured law professor at Harvard who had attended law school at an American public university.[64]"
