Insane level of production — higher than in Soviet times. In the first two months of the year Rosvertol delivered 13 attack helos to the VKS which translates to an annualized run of 78 birds. Kamov delivered 4. Just over 100 for the year at this rate. The entire Yankee attack helo arm is 700 Apaches. At the current rate of production Russia will top out with a fleet of approx. 1400 operational assuming a twenty year usefull life with 1/3 in repairs at any given time. Twice Yankee strength.
This also wildly ignores the FSB which maintains its own fleet of attack helos. The FSB inducted two Mi-35s so far this year too and those are not counted in the total.
A contract was inked today for an additional batch of 10 Mi-26’s and the first batch of Mi-28NMs will be delivered this year though the MoD and the factory are still haggling over price. It will be for 6 to 18 birds in the initial batch depending on the final price term. Assume 10 for a full aviation “Polk.”
Plus, on the transport side deliveries of Ansats are finally hitting respectable numbers. 60 will be built this year.
