The quintessence of what we’d today recognize as “leftism," dating back to the Jacobins, is ingratitude.
It is a yawning intellectual chasm.
We see this distinction so clearly in the year 2020.
Trump, no matter what you think of his style or mannerisms, imbues a gratitude for what America, at its core, is.
BLM and Antifa, no matter what you think of any substantive underlying issues, imbue a profound ingratitude.
As I wrote in June:
