i have a lot of reasons. the main one is that i really can't justify bringing a new life into the world when there are so many kids out there who need homes.
also, i've never really felt a strong connection with infants or toddlers... or little kids in general. i plan to adopt an adolescent or teen. (also, i'm using "adopt" as shorthand for "foster and hopefully eventually adopt".)
finally, pregnancy and childbirth sound extremely unpleasant (and likely to do a number on my body!) |

i actually have no idea how the selection process works, either. i def want to adopt a bright kid, that's the only thing i can think of offhand.
to your edit: not sure exactly what you mean. i want to parent bc i want to provide a child with a loving environment in which they can thrive and live their best life. for me, i think it makes sense to do that for a kid in need of a home, rather than make a new one |
