He doesn’t seem to have any grasp of the rest of the criminal defense ecology like post-conviction relief, appellate work, civil forfeiture, pre-charging intervention, indigent contracts, etc.
There is a bottom-feeding class of crim defense bros in any JDX who don’t really practice. They take money from desperate felons or other unsophisticated people (and the fees are usually below market), then do little more than whine to a prosecutor and string along the client until the relationship falls apart or the client misses court dates/gets new charges/violates release conditions, then they end up having to plead out to whatever.
The standards for private crim defense are obscenely low. It attracts irresponsible and incapable people because they can fake it for years so long as they don’t really care about money and have no shame. TSINAH seems like both on some level. |

I do, however, agree that there's a class of bottom-feeding criminal defense faggots in every jurisdiction; they make life hell for those of us who are actually competent. To date I've represented over 200 people. I have gotten *multiple* prosecutors fired for misconduct. I have notes in files about me and my litigation tactics. Prosecutors will just dismiss felony cases when I file a Notice of Taking Depositions. I am extremely good at my job. The last time I had to withdraw from a case was several years ago. |
