The flea market opens around 7am, but people start setting up before then, so the thing to do is get there super early (stay up all night if u have to) when the vans with the bikes arrive, and watch them unload the bikes. As soon as u see the bike you want, offer $60 (or whatever) for it before they even finish unloading the fucker. If u have an eye for bikes, u can usually spot value better than the people selling the bikes. They will know popular brands like Trek and Cannondale but they won't know how to evaluate things like frame construction or component quality. The wheels alone could be worth $400 on that bike. |
