There were multiple periods during this debate where Trump was literally arguing against one or both moderators on a matter of substance and they were actively arguing back against him, and as a result Kamala just got to stand back and roll her eyes or cackle or whatever without being forced to either launch an attack or defend a position.

That's like the refs throwing on a jersey and grabbing the ball in the middle of a basketball game and moving it around the court a bit here and there (always acting in favor of one team, of course). That is simply never supposed to happen during a POTUS debate. Those moderators aren't running for office, and no one in America gives a single shit what they "think" or "know" about any issue, period full stop. Just shut the fuck up and keep the game on track and don't EVER touch the ball during play. Even dumb normies intuitively understand this limitation and a lot of people really don't like seeing that kind of shit (especially when it only ever flows one way and thus feels like it's doubly unfair). And it also ALWAYS makes the person that the moderators are stepping in to help look weaker.

If the moderators had just been halfway reasonable and done their fucking jobs in a defensible manner, Trump almost certainly still would have lost the debate because he just can't help himself and Kamala (although a midwit herself) was well prepared by a strong team. It would have been a nice clean win for Kamala and that really would have made her look strong and polished by comparison.

But of course, Libs just can't help overplaying their hand at every turn and shooting themselves in the foot like preening retards, and so the moderators gleefully jumped in and treated it like a 3v1 gangbang half the time, and thereby muddied the waters on what was otherwise a clean win for Kamala... and as a result, now a bunch of normies who genuinely still care about things like "fairness" and "the process" have good reason to potentially be annoyed about this debate in ways that aren't directed at Trump's objectively poor performance, and Trump's team has plenty of ammo that they can use to re-direct attention away from Trump's actual subpar debate performance.
