Pivot from the social issue-heavy platform to one centered around the very real economic issues most Americans are suffering under. Rekindle the D party's roots with farmers, the working poor, unions, and the traditional economically protectionist base that the party was originally built on. Take a page out of William Jennings Bryan's book and stop giving in to the cynical laziness of idpol slop. Define America as a country that speaks to everyone regardless of economic class (and increasingly, economic caste) once again. Denounce globalism and once Clinton dies or gets sidelined openly question his legacy within the party & neoliberalism in general

Next cycle will be much stronger for you all and probably a boon to the country in general after some soul searching imo

Cons are intrinsically linked to BIGAGRA from a few of their reliably red states and these megacorps are very unpopular with actual farmers, usually white, and the types who support them

That should be an easy lock-up for Dems and historically has been a Dem demographic and ideological stronghold but since Clinton they've been losing traction with this group more and more

Dems really need to soul-search and hire advisors with a better sense of historicity regarding US politich as they've burned so many bridges in the last two decades with groups that were reliably voting Dem previously

so theyve only done well when the GOP has furked up shit

other than that they are just a nigga loving coalition of baby murders, niggas and losers

full disclosure: i voted for them every election 2000 to 2020

Race actually didn't play much of a factor in the turnout for this one unless you're the type of leftist who includes "immigration" under the "racial issues" category

Afaik this was decided on two issues: immigration and the economy. Even the Palestine stuff didn't do much to actually sway votes according to the data I've seen

Race played an extraordinary factor in that Kamala was such a terrible candidate dem turnout in Philly and Milwaukee and Detroit and the entire foundation of their party collapsed.

The electorate was actually less racially polarized IIRC. Kamala did slightly better among whites and Trump did much better among minorities.

But the white share of the vote went up from 67% to 71%, oddly.

yes, there is less racial polorization now cause every non-nigga can agree that niggas and crime are insane. even a decent number of niggas (20% of nigga males) voted for trump perhaps for that reason

so ironically its realistic hatred of niggas that is maeking amerikka less racially polorized

Latinos who worked through the tedium of the system to naturalize themselves and their families properly are actually one of the more hardline anti-migrant demographic groups. What I've found from personal interactions with this group is that they have an immense amount of pride from completing the Herculean labors necessary to be here legally and much contempt for the illegal immigrants who they consider to be responsible for both white and black disdain for hispanics of all stripes in the US. The concept has fallen out of favor/credibility in anthropology but it fits neatly enough here: South and especially Central Americans have traces of an almost Arab-like "shame culture"(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guilt%E2%80%93shame%E2%80%93fear_spectrum_of_cultures) that places a great deal of in-group blame on unlawful residents for image issues relating to Latinos and this creates a stark and potentially politically exploitable divide within the Hispanic community

Dems seem to have a great deal of trouble actually understanding what Hispanics care about as a voting bloc and, in a strange but typically Progressive elitist reverse-racist fashion, tend to lump them and their predicted interests all together in one massive group while targeting them with the same sorts of messaging that they'd target African-Americans with which tends to go about as well as you'd expect. (Republicans, normally tone-deaf on demographic distinguishment, don't seem to have this issue w/r/t Hispanics quite as much---probably from intimate experience with their long-standing relationship with the Cuban diaspora in the US)

The same tiny sliver of 2nd and 3rd generation academically minded Hispanics, usually female and middle class or above (it shows in the messaging chosen), that work for these think tanks and focus groups unintentionally wrongfully inform Dem strategists about what they consider to be median Hispanic focal points and interests and it shows with widely unpopular stuff being pushed to the forefront of the MSM-led discourse with stuff like "Latinx" and image-fragile manufactured furor over the admittedly tasteless "Kill Tony" Puerto Rico comments

I just watched her concession speech and it wasn't bad at all; it was even good, even if she was just reading off a teleprompter.

If she was consistently performing at that level, just coherently spouting platitudes, I'm surprised she lost.

I thought Trump sounded emotionless and incoherent during his speech last night. Then again, he's been really pushing himself the last home stretch. But I felt sad watching him. IDK.

Same tbh on the last part. The stamina & sharpness that defined Trump's political brand just isn't there to the same degree and it's a little saddening to see him finally starting to crack a bit under the weight of his many years. Worried about what the movement will turn to without him and no other candidate will give us the absurd mirth of this man and his bizarre comments about Arnold Palmer's member and other such moments that leave you scratching your head but also checking his entry on the ballot due to the sheer charisma behind them. Also Trump is (or was; the relentless attacks have hardened the man's politics), despite all the noise to the contrary, clearly fairly moderate and I'd even say "benign" as far as his politics go and it would be a shame to have a true "Golden Bull" replaced by some of the lower-rent grifters the GOP is trying to push into leadership roles in the MAGA movement, possibly to hamstring it. Big hopes for Vance but still need to see more from him before I can feel 100% secure with his work as a future Top Man within the faction

It was a good speech, I think she finally found her footing but obviously it was a little late for it. Dems had a serious set of issues this cycle with messaging and the cracks in their coalition became more pronounced over the Palestine issue. They also still need to reconcile the Clinton gang's legacy wrt shafting the working poor for more institutional support; Hollywood-in-politics, left-leaning tech elites, and the neoliberal elite were the big losers of this cycle and the way I see it the party has some likely painful but completely and utterly necessary soul-searching to do before they'll be ready to truly run as "Democrats" in the next bout

The big problem was her trying to be relatable. People don't want relatable because it makes us feel like we can't cone to you for leadership, stability, and answers. Really, that we can't come to you for anything. She didn't do shit for those people at the Howard watch party. Even being there listening, comforting those who needed it, and addressing the group would have at least been a convincing image for people to have in mind if she ran for something in CA. Instead she mopes alone, then is okay the next day and that's all that matters. Yay, all about her! Women.

Ehh relatable isn't bad in today's era. What they want to see is it mixed with political savvy and deep knowledge of the powers that the executive takes on and not just a thing on its own. It's okay to have your candidate cooking for her friends and sitting down and speaking off the cuff---this is a Republic, that's fine, this isn't Elizabeth getting drunk and laughing about the time Philip fell off of his horse on the grounds way back when. When it's that and only that it's a real problem for your candidate's business though, especially in an electoral cycle where voters are looking for someone tough and "safe" for what could be a rocky future

Kamala was a terrible political candidate, but the left in the US was fighting an uphill battle in a national election no matter what

These are people who have no positive vision for the human race or for our society. That's not an exaggeration. They really have *no* positive vision or positive message for people, at all. They are a hodgepodge of different selfish, bigoted interest groups who have nothing in common except a shared hatred of normal, heterosexual white Americans

It's extremely uncool to be shitlib irl now. I live in a shitlib area and it's very, very rare for sophisticated, socially savvy people to signal that they're shitlib. I think people are tired of being roped into the extreme negativity and negative identity of the shitlib coalition in the US. People don't want to be angry and hateful all the time. It's not personally enjoyable and it's definitely not cool

Shitlibbery isn't going away - too many people in the US owe everything they have and will ever have to the shitlib machine, and will defend it at all costs to the bitter end. But if they want to win fair and legitimate elections, they will have to come up with a way to trick people into thinking that they have a positive vision and message for the world and for society. Since that's fundamentally at odds with what they are, that's going to be extremely difficult
