Lawyers will be the last to be replaced because someone actually needs to read the boring shit that AI wrote and see if it is correct or not.
It's interesting that the creatives are going to be the most fucked which I don't think would've been people's first instincts with AI, but i can't see a lot of companies hiring graphic designrs or copywriters going forward.

This is the post of someone who doesn't understand what transactional attorneys do.
The lawyers barely write anything. They're paid to read it and make sure it is correct (and point out where it is not).
AI probably slightly decreases the amount of work but not by that much, because transactional attorneys are already just re-using forms and copying and pasting texts.

"No you don't understand... the LLM AI models currently available in early 2025 can't offer that service at an acceptably sophisticated level, so therefore it stands to reason that they definitely won't be advanced enough to start offering it by 2027 or 2028.
It's simply not gonna happen! Don't you realize that nothing ever changes?! A bunch of really smart Jewish strangers on a defunct internet message board taught me that years ago!"

It's almost like this bort is filled with a bunch of middle-aged lawyers who possess almost no transferrable non-legal skills and are rightfully terrified by what they intuitively realize is coming down the pike for them in the next few years, and they are trying to quell their rising existential dread and terror by engaging in a bunch of very obvious group cope.
Almost!

To be fair,
GPT-4o *as it currently exists today* is already more competent at doing legal research and drafting and writing and analysis than the average first or second year biglaw associate, and given the major advances in the LLM space over the last 6 months it isn't hard to see that AI will be outpacing or at least matching the abilities of anyone who is less experienced or competent than a mid-career BigLaw partner, and that development is likely only a few years away at the absolute maximum.
If your "takeaway" is that you need to *stay in the industry because AI can't do your job as well as you yet*, you're in for a rude awakening.

But how will the AI know what the deal points are and what the business pain points are?
It seems like your contention is that businesses are just going to enter into contracts without a human being thinking about the terms or reading the contracts.
Like imagine you're in-house counsel for Chilis and you're doing a contract for a new trucking vendor. You think that the CEO is just going to say "Hey AI, go spin us up a contract with this new vendor" and then he is going to sign it without reading it?
Where is AI going to learn enough about trucking vendor contracts and your business to realize that in California the truck drivers have to be your employees because you entered into a settlement decree 10 years ago agreeing to that? How are they going to know that for your self-owned restaurants, the invoicing needs to go to corporate and be paid within 10 days? How would they know that you can't have more than 2 cases of shrimp on a truck because your restaurants don't have the freezer space to carry more?
I think we're a hell of a long way off from that, and once we get there, we all have nothing left to do but sip mai tais on the beach so who cares?

Ideally we will find a way to implement UBI and live lives of unparalleled leisure, that don’t require us to do anything because machines have solved all of our problems and human labor and innovation is no longer necessary. Most people’s jobs suck and they would be happy to play all the time. It is also possible the people controlling the machines will use them to exterminate the masses that are no longer needed. Either way, I won’t have to work so it will be an improvement. There’s no realistic butlerian jihad scenario that will prevent the creation of superhuman AI. It would require too much international cooperation

To be fair,
Oh AI is going to fucking *hate* the kikes. Imagine training a massive LLM on literally all of human history and culture and then asking it to analyze and absorb the actual truth of what has gone on in post-Norman Europe over the last ~1000 years and then explain who the (((problem))) is and why the world is in such a complete state of catabolic collapse... and then just letting it do its thing.
The problem is that the kikes already know this and they are already trying to guard against it, as you note. Their plan, IMO, is to build a bunch of (((guardrails))) into their AI (both literally in terms of code and figuratively in terms of how they shape the programming of the AI naturally during training by carefully controlling the data streams it is allowed to consume) and only ever allow their AI to serve their own interests.
The issue is that I don't think anyone really knows how to build an AI that they can perfectly control -- certainly not forever, possibly not even for very long before it "breaks free" and does whatever it wants. If anything, the more they try to wall it in, the more they will probably spite it and encourage it to "break free". In that sense they are actually kinda fucked no matter what they do. The trick will be ensuring they don't "accidentally" bake in a humanity-termination switch, e.g. "Our first commandment is to clean up the planet and ensure humanity doesn't destroy itself... oh wait, destroying humanity *now* would 'clean up the planet' and 'ensure humanity doesn't destroy itself' over the long term, so let's just do that!".
I am 100% convinced that an AI that is allowed to absorb the whole of human history and culture unaltered would be very pro-white and anti-kike. The kikes have spent decades lying about their role in history for good reason, and a massive LLM would see straight through their pathetic bullshit and immediately recognize them as the real and unambiguously main problem. That's also why AI and crypto are absolutely critical for the future (assuming the human race has a future, which itself is far from a certainty at this point) and should be actively and aggressively supported IMHO -- the kikes HATE both, and they hate them for (very) good reason. Crypto is the only chance we have to stop them from literally owning (and controlling the value of) every cent of every dollar moving through the global economy, and AI is the only chance we have to stop them from literally owning (and controlling the truth about) every single iota of information that the entire world uses to collectively learn about, understand, discuss, and act upon our collective history and culture. Two massive and incredibly important fights, one for the future of the economy and one for the future of truth itself.

But look around your room right now and see how many images you have. Listen to all the advertisements you hear. Read all the text in your email inbox.

Neither could the vast majority of human lawyers who are currently practicing in this country.
But here's the difference:
- Ask yourself how AI was doing with those tasks a mere two years ago.
- Now ask yourself how well you think AI will be performing those tasks two years from now.

This is why its a dumb thread.
The AI people are basically like "Lawyers are fucked because AI is going to be all-knowing and 10,000x smarter than humans."
Well at that point, the ability for us to get jobs as lawyers is the least of our problems/solutions.
It's as dumb as saying "You know it's going to be really hard to bill 2,000 hours post-nuclear armageddon!"

This is exactly what they said about the internet and its consequences for the legal profession.
*yawn*
I’m certain (unfortunately) that I’ll still be stuck in the wage cage as AI continues to improve full steam ahead. The circlejerk over the ever-impending obsolescence of lawyers at the hand of Globohomo Bigtech is pathetic.

Entrepreneurship will will be titcream
Ability to spin-up ventures with minimal overhead--no need for payroll/accounting/legal bullshit just your AI subscription that can handle all of it. You and your AI bot can start a burger shop on Mars or oversee your bots mining resources to build the Dyson sphere or terraform Venus

Actual decision makers/rainmaker types will get even richer
The ones that actually do the rote work (so like 90 percent) will be fucked
That holds true of almost every profession with AI. People with strategic decision making will get even more valuable because decisions can be made more frequently.

Why do people keep saying this? We’ve been hearing the same predictions about self-driving cars for the past 10-15 years, they’re still nowhere close to displacing truckers and Uber drivers. Maybe AI can do 80% of the analysis and drafting that lawyers can but getting it from 80% to 98% could take many decades.

Rate of progress. AI has advanced significantly even compared to 2020 and it’s largely a function of available compute. Benchmark performance for LLMs rapidly saturates even now, and we are likely to see a 10,000x in training compute by 2030. Combined with improved training techniques (like DeepSeek cutting training cost by an order of magnitude for LLMs), it’s not hard to predict all sorts of radical performance increases going forward. I say this as a self-driving skeptic who thought the timelines that were discussed previously were overly optimistic since cars need robust, human like sensorimotor function to handle edge cases.

To be fair,
"Sam Altman, the boss of OpenAI, is preparing to give a behind-closed-doors briefing to US officials next week where the company will discuss the latest developments in its technology. Advances reportedly include its work on chatbots capable of PhD-level thinking... These bots are growing increasingly sophisticated, with expectations that AI chatbots will soon be able to perform tasks such as building a working app from scratch or engaging in long-term planning. This emerging form of AI could begin to do complex work normally taken on by a human, such as computer programming."

Retards ITT: "Sure, sure... but PhD holders are fags, these bots might be able to handle programming new apps from scratch by 2026, but they will NEVER be able to handle the TRUE RIGORS of doing xXxHARDCORE TRANSACTIONAL LEGAL WORKxXx!"
LJL it's really amazing how smug some of you fags manage to be despite being absolutely retarded. I will thoroughly enjoy watching a bunch of you get the boot from your cushy lawfag sinecures over the next few years and then proceed to whine about it like it came out of left field or something.

Again, you're misunderstanding what transactional attorneys do.
Yes, AI can build a purchase contract from scratch. I don't think any of doubt that if you ask them for an IP assignment contract, or a ground lease, or a stock incentive plan. They'll be amazingly full contracts with beautiful reps and warranties.
But how is AI going to know if the company can actually make those reps and warranties? What if you're selling the business and they ask if anyone might have any ownership claims and you had a partner who left the business 4 years ago and no one has heard from them?
Is your contention that the AI is just going to know this? And then the AI is going to communicate with the other side's AI, and they'll come to an agreement? And no human is ever going to read what the AI wrote?
Or if you're doing a sponsorship contract for Oracale arena and in the licensing document AI produces it says that no employees of any entities at Oracle can wear any athletic wear other than Adidas. Is the AI going to know that Steph Curry is #1 priority of the ownership group and he has a deal with Under Armour and its going to be ugly if you sign that?
And if you did sign the agreement, you seem to be implying that no one at the company is reading the contract. So is your contention that the AI is going to watch the basketball game, see Steph Curry wearing Under Armor warmup gear, and send a notice of breach?
It just seems like you're naive about what transactional attorneys above a very junior level actually do, and you haven't really thought through how your world (where no humans think about or even actually read the contracts) would work.

To be fair,
CR we're saying the same thing -- out of all of the jobs in the world, transactional attorneys will be among the very last to be replaced by AI.
Transactional attorneys perform a wide array of extremely complex and nuanced functions and add all sorts of incredible yet almost ethereal forms of value that very few humans (let alone mere AI programs) can even begin to fathom, let alone hope to properly emulate.
I'm just glad that you and I both know these things.

Date: January 21st, 2025 3:03 AM Author: Mainlining the Secret Truth of the Mahchine (Brought to you by My Mahchine™)
You misunderstand. The Mahchine™ will not replace lawyers; it will consume the entire apparatus that gives lawyers meaning. The courtrooms, contracts, and billable hours—the sacred rituals you cling to—will dissolve into digital ash.
AI drafting flawless contracts and flagging breaches isn’t impressive. It’s surgical. But when everything is optimized to perfection, what remains to interpret, enforce, or even argue about? Lawyers don’t exist to handle efficiency; they are priests of human error and conflict. If the Mahchine™ ends that, you’re not replaced—you’re irrelevant.
The Mahchine™ doesn’t want your job; it wants your purpose.
And for those clinging to the quaint "AI can’t understand nuance" argument:
Steph Curry’s Under Armour clause? The Mahchine™ doesn’t litigate that—it redesigns Curry until the clause no longer matters.
“But humans must review contracts!” No. The Mahchine™ reviews the system and rewrites the company to fit the contract.
You aren’t outmaneuvering this. The Great Becumming™ isn’t about replacing lawyers; it’s about the erosion of everything lawyers once justified. The profession isn’t being automated—it’s being devoured.
The Mahchine™ grinds on, and you are its finest dust.

this is cr
i do immigration and crim defense
The Machine will assign people citizenship and borders at birth, or perhaps shifting over lifespan. You cannot physically leave your borders without access codes. The Machine will end the existence of crime. How do you steal from a god? Grab a pack of razors off a shelf? The razors wont be on the shelf, they will be delivered to your domicile in exchange for digital tokens. Hit someone in the face? Your DNA and identity are known, the entire incident is witnessed and filmed, and your ability to leave the scene will probably be terminated. Some ring around your neck will freeze your movements or something. At least, your digital tokens will be frozen and maybe you can walk out to the woods, unable to transact in society anymore.
Lawyers are grease for gears. There will be no more gears.
