Their first album was a masterpiece. Nothing has ever sounded like it before or since, a rare feat. The problem is that one of the main guys who came up with cool quirky lead guitar riffs quit the band as soon as they got famous and simply retired never to do anything again.
Their second album was downright terrible and captured none of the magic but it still somehow was famous because it was in a Microsoft ad I think for the Surface that played all the time.
Their third album was better than the second but not as good as the first but sort of redeemed them, although it's not something you'd listen to every day.
