Date: April 29th, 2025 8:06 PM Author: Cerise crawly set Working on a real estate deal. Building sits on land owned by a railroad company, building owner pays yearly rent to the railroad.
It seems crazy to buy the building and hope the railroad just keeps renting the land to me. It's on a freaking one year lease. So I would propose to the railroad that I buy the land, or at least rent it for a very long period. Dollar amount of the lease is trivial, maybe a couple thousand dollars a year.
Has anyone ever dealt with this before? I've heard doing anything with a railroad is super bureaucratic. |

Railroad’s don’t like to sell property and they have very aggressive lawyers who are part of an old money clique that’s very hard to break into.
I’d recommend leaving this one alone. |
