Now you basically never see 15%. The tip screen usually starts at 20 at the most generous places, and I’ve seen a ton that start at 30%.

I was a bartender in undergrad at multiple places, some pretty nice and some just insane college bars, and it was always 15. I’d always hear people joke about how some of them couldn’t figure it out and someone else would chime in with this “weird trick” where you do 10% in your head which is easy and then add half of that to make 15.
