I was dealing with 100 firms, most of which had several offices and dozens, if not hundreds, of summer associates. I was tracking information on 10,000 summer associates or so. Also, XO became extremely unhelpful in the second year of the project. In contrast, federal appellate clerks were a far more discrete group, and individuals seemed to be far more willing to report placement.
