It's a whole different ballgame from the US version. Lots of 180 toxicity. Extremely entertaining.

No, but can I ask what you thought of the US version? I know some people who worked on the show.

It's hugely different from season to season based on the cast. Pastor Cal and the reunion host guy are consistent high points. They had a decent run where they put together some seasons with solid mixes of toxic blowups and cute storylines, but eventually it went downhill and became almost unwatchable due to editing bloat--too many episodes and episode length too long. Also casting too many lib-coded people, and too many blacks. S18 nonetheless ended up somehow being solid despite those trends. And now it's been moved to Peacock and it looks like they've gone with a much leaner format, so I'm optimistic about the future of the show.

Ironically, the AU seasons can be even longer than the longest US seasons, but they earn their length by having double the couples, a great format, and good editing (if anything, they could actually show MORE and sometimes they cut stuff I'd like to see).

The US show, at least some of the time, actually tries to create real marriages. The AU show, on the other hand, has a format and tasks deliberately designed to sow discord both within and between the couples, so it's a lot more entertaining, but real marriages don't really ever result (in fact, unlike the US show they aren't even legally married).
