They had some legit good shit, awesome musicians and tight band

Apparently they even admit that Beavis and butthead ruined them

it's a fun read

it's not snarky or condescending (klosterman was into metal at the time growing up) but it also doesn't make more out of the music than what it was

Nothing But A Good Time is also 180. some good behind the scenes stuff on the 80s metal era.

hair metal as a genre is unfairly maligned. Based historians will look back and understand that Motley Crue was a million times better than nirvana.

Kip Winger tried something that was probably unattainable - being a handsome frontman who also played bass

Just not something he should have tried

I think its that he was TOO HANDSOME

Also a couple years ago I went to a solo acoustic show of Kip Winger where he played all of the winger hits on 12 string, it was fucking great and he still sounds awesome. He was funny as shit too, like stand up comedian quality, bashed Reb Beach a lot, and high fived me on the way off the stage. He writes symphonies now too.

Reb Beach is one of the best hair metal guitarists of all time IMO, a notch below EVH but is up there with George Lynch, DeMartini etc IMO
