No there is nothing inherently wrong with engineered wood floors, although they aren't "much cheaper" than hardwood floors. when you start getting into the engineered wood floors that are actually good, they overlap with hardwood costs a lot.
the point is more that with cheap engineered wood or a bad install, you potentially open yourself up to all sorts of problems, and I assume they didn't use the best stuff. So at minimum, there's a possibility that it could look completely beat to shit within the next 10-15 years. I used engineered wood because I am on a slab foundation, and I ordered more than 50 different samples and tested them for scratchability and ease of damage from falling objects, like a wrench. There were huge differences even between woods with theoretically the same hardness ratings. Some would get absolutely DESTROYED by sliding a fork over them with a 10lb weight on top, and others could take 20lb or more with no damage. Some would have the entire wear layer gashed through by dropping a wrench on them and others would only have a tiny imperceptible dent. Do you think the ppl flipping that house were careful about picking something that will hold up?
Then there is the installation itself. You might not notice if they floated the floors on a walkthrough unless you are looking for it, but you will grow to hate floating floors if you live there. Did they leave expansion gaps? Did they use a vapor barrier? Was it properly applied? That could be huge because the house has a basement and especially if it isn't climate controlled, moisture can intrude from the bottom and make the floor buckle, cup, or delaminate.
I am guessing they floated the floors because it is cheapest and one picture shows a transition in a place where one typically would not be with a full trowel glue down. There are also places where the install looks terrible. Pic 19 is the most blatant. The floor is supposed to run parallel to the longest side of the room, and also the same direction as light enters. Here they have it running across a long thin area shortways, and also perpendicular to the wall with the highest density of windows. Only complete amateurs would have installed it that way so it makes me question the rest of the job.

Should move to Florida to cop that mega homestead.
The reason why nobody has insurance or pays debts here is because they all buy South Florida mansions with cash to avoid nuclear judgments/creditors and there is nothing anyone can do to take the house. That coupled with maxing out 401ks and IRAs
