But most people see taxes as a single thing and how it's broken down into SS/Medicare/Fed/State is irrelevant. If the feds stopped taxing anyone under 150k, most people would still be paying Ss/Medicare/State. So they'd still see themselves as paying taxes.
Maybe there is an argument in doing away with fed income tax for everyone below a certain threshold if we also shift more Fed burdens to the states? Would it be more cost effective? Open to persuasion either way. |
