I found a decent 6-deck 3:2 game (H17, DAS, LS) and played through an entire shoe at a negative count. True count got up to +7 and I immediately began betting big, but five minutes later the pit boss backed me off.

no trespass and the back off was polite enough

I'd just like to be able to play ~2 hours before it happens

counting is obvious to every dealer & probably most pit bosses. confirmation comes from above, and I'm pretty sure they're using AI now to identify card counting behavior

yes. I also tip the dealer.

as it is, the edge isn't much, but it's enough:

#######

Rules: 6D, pen=0.90, H17, DAS, double=any, LS

Count: hi_lo (true count), ramp rounding: floor, index rounding: floor

Chips: denoms=25,50,100,500,1000 (exact makeable rounding), min_bet=100, table_max=50000

Hands per ramp: 3,000,000

Deviations loaded: 23

== Ramp: 1-50 (Count: hi_lo) ==

Profit total: $22,603,950.0000 (over 3,000,000 hands)

Total wagered: $1,121,581,100.0000

Avg base bet/hand: $321.1571 (3.2116 min-bets)

Avg total wager/hand (incl doubles/splits/insurance): $373.8604 (3.7386 min-bets)

EV/hand: $7.5347 (0.075347 min-bets) ± $0.4804 (stderr)

EV/100 hands: $753.4650 (7.534650 min-bets/100)

ROI (profit / total wagered): 2.0154%

#######

(this is from a simulation I just ran with some new deviations)

+7 happens every now and then. It's extremely unlikely, like maybe once every thousand hands (~5 hours of play with a reasonably fast dealer) you'll be in that position
