I can’t think of a single mutual fund advantage anymore. Can’t trade midday, higher expense ratio.

Auto DCA investing. Until recently you couldn’t auto DCA into vanguard ETFs

You are a financial masterman. Congrats, brother.

Have you gone through the process of getting a margin account that permits you to borrow large sums of money against your brokerage account?

I think the advantage iirc is that it’s easier to make it buy predetermined amounts at specific intervals.

if you trade on e.g. fidelity you can cop their mutual funds for free. but imo that's not even worth it vs. intraday trading.

For anyone who has been putting this off because of tax implications and/or accidentally messing something up, vanguard has a specific option on their website to do exactly this ywia

No, you call them up and they will do the transfer "in kind" so there is no taxable event.

I thought Vanguard did that for everyone automatically years ago. I distinctly remember them just doing it automatically for my mutual funds like 10 years ago. Or maybe I had to opt out and I didn't.

You are thinking about when they changed everyone's IRAs into brokerage accounts. They didn't actually switch the securities from MF to the ETFs at that time. You have always had to request that change I believe.

i cant use mine anymore cause the retards still have an old 401k on it that has an old addy, they did an addy block but they wont remove the 401k so i can use my regular account. its highly regarded
