Date: July 22nd, 2018 7:55 PM Author: crystalline heaven stain i failed a second state after being out of law school seven years while billing 2400 hours. it’s hard to get in the groove of taking a bar when you’re a practitioner and have to learn a new state’s laws completely from scratch.
the state i was in also stretched the rules a bit when it came to “blind” grading. i knew what scores my essays were getting as they were being graded and the head firm partner laughed in my face when i asked him how that was possible. |

Date: July 22nd, 2018 8:00 PM Author: crystalline heaven stain when i was fired i had no choice to go back to my barred state where i got an in-house gig. a few years later and i’m assistant gc working remotely back in the state where i failed the bar and pull down 3x what i would have had i stayed and made partner at the firm.
so stupid? sure. but also fortuitous. |
