That tracks. I followed the whole case end to end.
Ironically the peak of Lindsay Clancy's NG by reason of insanity defense, which has some other goofy name under Mass law, was during the state's witnesses. The prosecution really bungled it out of the gate by creating a theory of the case that didn't even make sense and then trying to prove this nonsensical theory.
That being said the defense witnesses have sucked and mostly helped the prosecution. This seemed like it would be a slam dunk when the state rested but now it's tilting back slightly towards conviction.
The hardest part for the defense to prove is why in the final month leading up to the murders everyone said she seemed fine, thought she was getting better, and she seemed normal to everyone around her. The star witness for the defense said you can be psychotic and not appear to anyone else to be. She also never said she heard voices before or after the day of the murders.
On the defense side though it's clear she was nuts, lost her mind, sought help, her doctors were shite, she was overmedicated, and her condition kept getting worse.
70/30 she gets acquitted of criminal responsibility. There's a lot of reasonable doubt. The less the prosecutors talk the better they do...
