V5, elite litigation boutiques: Flawless work product; motions are really well researched and written. Files tons of stuff because they can churn the bill with impunity.
V50, moderately-elite litigation boutiques: Some typos, but everything is generally well founded. Cost-sensitive clients lead to fewer filings.
V100: Work product is terrible. Generally can only land small disputes that should settle without extensive litigation. Files tons of incomprehensible dreck because they want to get in as much billing as possible before their client realizes they should settle.
