He is/was (died in 2020, fittingly in a lot of ways).
Like virtually 100% of people born and raised before WWII, he understood that loving your own people and culture is good, healthy, and normal, and love of one's own doesn't imply malice towards others, except by lib Marxist "logic."
Nor is there any virtue in hating oneself and willfully blinding oneself to the dysfunction of other groups, actively encouraging their worst behaviors, and vilifying others for noticing these patterns in reality (the War on Noticing).
As Malcolm Muggeridge, another traditionalist Catholic, frequently said: Western liberalism is a death wish. Full stop. We can dance around the issue with politically-correct hysteria - wailing and gnashing of teeth - all we want, but that's the bottom line.

CR. Anglos are long gone, sadly.
Speaking of traditionalist Catholics, Chesterton and Hilaire Belloc (an alpha Frenchman) frequently said that Henry VIII threw England, and in many ways Europe/Christendom as a whole - given England's prominence as a Catholic country at the time - to the wolves when he chose self-indulgence + confiscation of Church property over the good of the common man in England.
(Many people forget, given centuries of anti-Catholic brainwashing, that the Catholic Church was historically a great friend of average people. Catholicism promoted wholesome values, huge amounts of leisure time, and ensured that everyone had a decent place in society - monasteries, abbeys, nunneries, etc.)

Well said, both in terms of the pros of the system of old and its potential pitfalls. White people in particular seem to be highly susceptible to self-loathing, for whatever reason.
It's hard to imagine non-white Christians falling prey to the same scam of open-borders ethnomasochism as many whites have, but that's just my gut instinct talking.
The main issue for me is that, as Saint Thomas Aquinas said, we should only believe something because it's true. And it's startling how perfectly Christianity reflects reality, once we get past the lib Marxist skinsuit parody of Christianity.
As Chesterton said, Christianity is a religion of sanctified common sense. We lose God, we lose common sense, as the post-Christian West has demonstrated.
