Louvre Security Audit:
France’s Cour des Comptes reports that only 39% of rooms had cameras last year, with much of the museum relying on reputation over protection. Funds went to PR, post-COVID relaunches, and new acquisitions while infrastructure decayed. Security upgrades aren’t expected to be complete until 2032. Auditors recommend fewer acquisitions, higher ticket prices, and proper internal controls.
