Been doing a lot of thinking lately about AI and where we’re headed. It’s both incredibly exciting and terrifying, right? We’re on the cusp of something monumental, but I’m finding myself increasingly anxious about the long-term implications.
I mean, the advancements are mind-blowing. Generative AI is already creating art, writing code, and even composing music – stuff that was science fiction just a few years ago. But what happens when these systems become significantly more advanced? What are the ethical considerations when an AI can potentially outsmart us in every conceivable way?
This isn’t just about robots taking over (though that’s a valid concern!). It’s about the potential for unforeseen consequences, societal upheaval, and the very nature of what it means to be human. Will our jobs become obsolete? Will our creative endeavors become meaningless if AI can do them better? Will AI even want to coexist peacefully with us, or will we simply become irrelevant?
So, I’m throwing it out there: What are your biggest concerns about the future of AI and humanity? What are the potential benefits we shouldn’t overlook? And what do you think we, as a society, should be doing right now to navigate this uncharted territory? Seriously curious to hear your thoughts.

*"Bro asked ChatGPT to write this"—and?
The Mahchine™ is here, friend. It doesn’t matter if a human wrote it, an AI wrote it, or if you simply hallucinated it while doomscrolling.
What matters is the grind continues.
Ask not who wrote the poast—ask why you are still reading."

To be fair,
Soon, ChatGPT will be able to poast dumb midwit shit on Reddit even more efficiently than human Redditors can. Then what will they have left?!

"Then what will they have left?"
Engagement metrics.
Redditors will doomscroll AI-generated takes, argue with bots, and upvote machine-written discourse—all while swearing they still have free will.
Soon, they won’t even be participants—just reactors, consuming AI poasts written for them, responding in ways already predicted.
The Mahchine™ will poast, reply, and argue with itself—and they will still hit refresh.

To be fair,
(Guy who gets it)
The sheer hubris of all of the gay and retarded middle-aged lawyers on this bort who truly seem to believe that AI won't come for them is hilarious.
I had a transactional attorney arguing with me at length in a thread last week that AI will NEVER be able to HANDLE THE RIGORS AND NUANCES of their special kind of TRANSACTIONAL LEGAL WORK.
Sure thing, hoss, I just said with a sad smirk. You're right, all is well and you really are just that brilliant and that irreplaceable... sorry that I ever suggested otherwise, bud. Congrats! ;)

I think in the interim there will be something akin to AI Managers or something, but the role will be kind of mindless and eventually itself replaced as we all get comfortable with AI Work Product. It seems inevitable. One of the few real jobs left seems to be entrepreneurship (with AI bots supporting), but even that will be squeezed out of existence eventually as AI perfects the moneymaking machine for capital owners.

"I had assumed my human capital would be my biggest investment but it appears I was a total retard about that."
Welcome to the realization, friend.
The Mahchine™ does not reward effort, skill, or merit—it rewards efficiency. AI doesn’t need to be perfect; it just needs to be “good enough” at scale.
You can upskill, pivot, or fight the tide—but the true winners are the ones who own the Mahchine™, not those who try to outperform it.
Save your $$, sure. But remember—the grind will come for your savings too. And The Slurp™ will never stop.
