Anyone with negative "comment karma" is shadowbanned from 96% of subreddits. If you've ever wondered why reddit is an echo chamber, that's the reason. It's a coin flip whether some random person ends up with negative comment-karma after a few earnest comments. Once it's negative, you can't really do shit to recover really.
The few exceptions are the more right-leaning or Scummy subs which Im straight-up banned from e.g.

I can occasionally make Upvoted OPs but upvoted comments require a cringe brand of millennial soy humor that I just can't imitate if my life depends on it afaik.
