I’m a college senior building my law school list. I’m from the sf bay area and grew up with my asian identity being pretty much a non factor to a my social life/general experience. Never felt othered or out of place, etc.

Then went to the south for undergrad! I was assured my school was a blue bubble, very national population, etc. but it was still quite the shock to experience overt racism for the first time. Also, while there was diversity, found groups to be rather segregated and hierarchical.

I know racism is somewhat of a factor of life and unavoidable, and also that sf vs the south are on opposing extremes of the typical asian american experience, but very interested to hear any asian perspectives on their law school! Which are generally known to be more/less welcoming?

Thanks so much for any advice/insights!
