I have been burned numerous times by shitlaw associates who broke bad and descended into alcoholism, drug addiction, Alzheimer's, etc. Sometimes they just disappear one day.
The general picture that emerges is of a lot of shockingly troubled people who don't function at a high level. And yet they are out and about, accurately representing themselves to the public as lawyers.
What if we all had to pass a bar exam once every ten years? Would that just obliterate the ranks of lawyers, creating a critical shortage? Or would it help our society? |
