Doesn't seem to be a complete withdrawal yet, but I expect that will happen before long. As long as there are no major encirclements then the Kursk operation will have been worth doing since all the energy Russia has spent getting their own land back has been resources they haven't been able to spend on getting Ukrainian territory.
But long term, I'm expecting Russia to get the rest of the Donbas if they want it. And since they've formally annexed that territory, that's probably the precondition for an actual end to the fighting. They won't cross the Dnieper, though, and they will never be able to take Kiev. |
