Will be our first home together. Married 3 years - baby within the year (hopefully).

Townhouse is not in a gated community, beautiful, and is move in ready. Costs will be not significantly less than a single family home. Appreciate the input, bros.

There are no monthly dues but apparently maintenance is split between the 4 residents.

Minimal yard maintenance is nice but it also depends on your HOA have some friends in townhouses without fences/privacy, basically makes backyard useless

That's the one thing - I wouldn't live in a th community. An urban rowhouse is great, but if you basically have an association that runs your life you may as well rent.
