Wife accepted $25 from friend for taking their kid to the movies. How prole?

After my wife and the other mom arranged it over text, the other mom texted that she would send money for the outing. She Venmo'ed my wife $25. (My wife spent more than that much per kid on tickets, snacks, and post-movie ice cream.)
I told my wife she should have declined the money, and that taking it is prole. She disagrees. Who is right here? |

In terms of financial parity, we live in the same neighborhood in similarly nice houses and drive similarly nice cars. Other mom works. My wife is a SAHM. HHI is probably similar. They might be a bit ahead. We probably have more saved and invested. |
