Like if you took comparable trucking jobs (e.g. comparing two cross country truck driving gigs, or two local delivery gigs, other apples to apples examples), would the Teamster get better pay or better hours/benefits than the non-union guy?

on average, yes but it really depends on the employer. UPS is an outlier. they caved to the teamsters and gave them a great contract. i've represented beer distributors with teamsters-represented drivers who make over 100k per year.

then i've represented companies with teamsters contracts and the drivers don't get paid all that much, maybe even less than some nonunion driving jobs. it just depends on how much leverage the union really has and how hard the employer is willing to fight back at the bargaining table.

Not sure exactly but it’s like 100k+ probably and insane benefits. It’s all the drivers, even the doods who deliver packages

cr used to seem like a sweet gig but even that’s not enough money most places anymore.

ups delivery driver could still be a solid 175 in low col southwest or something. doing that in they’re “peak” season would suck up north where they’re out hours after sunset in shit weather

There’s barely any teamsters trucking anymore outside of UPS. YRC was biggest unionized trucking company and went bankrupt last year
