i think "weakening" is a better word. things like the average person in the united states not being able to afford a home is exactly the type of thing that will threaten it's status in the future.

there is a near-zero threat to the dollar being the reserve currency for the foreseeable future. but it's stupid to scoff the idea it won't always be.
