Cowgod, thoughts on Switch 2 being the first true "Gen X" (/10) Console?

The whole thing is ludicrous and is just a result of fanboys….. the hardware is last-gen. No one said game boy advance was Sixth Gen ffs. Handhelds should have their own Gens. Someone will bring up the Wii which is intellectually dishonest. There’s nowhere else to put the Wii but where it is. Switch 1-2 were released at weird mid-Gen intervals with prior-gen hardware capabilities. It would’ve been fine to call Switch 1 8th gen and Switch 2 9th gen. Even 9th gen is pushing it for Switch 2 ffs.
Switch 2 being depicted as the first of a brand-new Gen with ps4 pro caliber hardware? Absurd. Wii in 6th gen? Who cares? Switch 1 in 9th? No one really assigned it a gen until it Won whatever gen it was in. It would’ve been considered ps3 gen if it did shitcube numbers. Switch 2 in Gen X is the most ridiculous of all. The longer they do this, the more the stupidity compounds.
Before switch 1 had 100,000,000k units shipped devs acted like it was a joke. After it Sold immensely, they changed their tune and performed feats of Engineering to get games to work on it.

Doesn’t a PS4 Pro outperform a Switch 2 on most metrics?

But this sort of dodges the question. You can still compare systems spec for spec to get a rough idea of what their performance capability is. How good the graphics ultimately look, or how much "improvement" you're going to see in graphics from one console to another, depends on many different factors so that's hard to gauge, but that doesn't prohibit us from getting a general sense of where each system is performance wise--what "band" it's in.
