If you have a spring blasting it open, you don't have to worry as much about precision of the parts. You also can't really fiddle with a spring assisted knife. It wasn’t as nice, but worked fine and I kind of liked the spring. Fiddled with it with my hand in my pocket a ton and the spring finally broke after several years. 1) materials: the sage 5 comes with a higher quality blade steel. 2) design: the sage has a cooler locking mechanism 3) build quality: the tenacious is made in the Chinese factory where the lower end models are made. They are imperfect and don't have great fit and finishing. The sage is made in the Taichung Taiwan factory where the best models are made with the highest quality fit and finishing. |
