Got a ton of speeding tickets in my teenage years driving a fairly nice family hand me down which was hard to drive at reasonable speeds like in that Roald Dahl short story, but I eventually slowed down in my late teens when I reached the point of "one more and you lose your license"
Probably my funniest speeding ticket story is when I got pulled over with my JAP ex girlfriend when we were in high school trying to make it to a movie on time, and the officer wrote 85+ on the ticket...
...which I later found out from the traffic court judge was a major favor, because if it had been OVER 20 mph over the limit then it would be huge fine and license suspension automatically, but exactly 20 meant it was just a point and a modest fine.
So I've always had a pleasant personality, no anger just speed demon tendencies, but it took me some teenage mulligans to devise the following strategy on the road: cruise control at 5 miles over the limit at all times, so I don't get speeding tickets but don't get anyone tailgating me, and if they're impatient it's easy to go around because I'm keeping my speed steady on the highway.
Thank!

BONUS STORY: for whatever gorgeously cosmic reason, the same guy who gave me driving lessons also ended up being my DMV driving test guy, and the first time we met (I’d driven once in my life with my mom) he started with the usual parking lot lesson…
…but was so impressed that he said “hey let’s do surface streets” - “okay let’s do the freeway” - “okay this is crazy, you seem so poised let’s drive to downtown la to meet a buddy of mine” so I drove to meet one of his friends playing soccer at one of those urban park soccer fields
(My instructor was a gorgeous Hispanic gentleman as you’ve probably guessed by now) π

Dude this is like, the coolest, 90s-iest , manliest intro for a character in an animated movie.

I love how every character, including T-Hawk, get an awesome intro scene.
Even Akuma gets a lore friendly cameo - selling fruit on the street to hungry children.

That’s exactly what I thought when I first watched it as a kidπ

The man is so lost that he's driving like a lunatic in a sports car idly suggesting marriage and unable to live in the real world. Bless this movie and its phenomenal characterization

@SeussWRLD You know what, that is downright considerate of him all things considered. What a strange inclusion for the sequence.
