If you want to be a player, you're better off putting some of the money into something that actually has a realistic chance of making a big return for you. Not sure what that would be, but some sort of investment in your career or your own business. You want to be thinking of non-lottery ticket ways of making multiples on that nest egg. Not making a few thousand bucks because you made a 20% return for the year instead of 15. At the same time, the path to a big win is often a string of steadily increasing small wins. You just won't find that big win playing the public markets. |
