President Donald Trump revealed that the one thing he admired about former President Joe Biden was his ability to nap and relax during trips to the beach – admitting he could never do that himself and functions best on “little sleep.”

While “Sleepy Joe” has long been a favorite insult of Trump’s, photos of Biden vacationing during his presidency became primary fodder for Republicans and MAGA supporters in previous years.

The Republican National Committee even pushed a debunked and incorrect analysis in 2024 that claimed Biden spent 40 percent of his time in office on vacation with video of the then-president sitting on a chair at the beach. All in all, the aim was simple: to paint Biden as incompetent and unable to lead the country.

During his interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, which aired on Wednesday’s edition of The Ingraham Angle, Trump was asked about how he manages on so little sleep.

“What do you do?” Ingraham asked. “You are like me, you don’t need sleep at all. You don’t need a lot of sleep. When you can’t fall asleep, how do you go back to sleep?”

Trump pivoted to jibe at his predecessor: “The only thing I admired about sleepy Joe Biden is the following: He’d go to a beach, lay down on a cot – barely able to get his feet through the sand – he’d lay down and within minutes he’s sleeping and have cameras watching.”

“I could never do that,” the president laughed. “I would never be able to sleep like that. That’s the only thing that I think that was wonderful. It was a disaster, this man was a disaster.”

Finally answering the question, he said: “I don’t sleep much. You don’t sleep much. A lot of people that love what they are doing don’t sleep much, I find. And so far it’s been okay.”

It’s not the first time Trump has mocked the footage of Biden at the beach. In August 2024, months before the presidential election and after the Democratic president had dropped out of the race, Biden vacationed in Rehoboth, Delaware.

Trump slammed Biden and claimed Chinese President Xi Jinping and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un would not sleep at a beach in front of cameras.
