Liberty was playing Jacksonville State in baseball. Liberty's starting pitcher was not in their 27 man roster for the game. Jacksonville State noticed as he was warming up. They waited until he threw one pitch, then told the umps. Playing an ineligible man is an automatic forfeit, so Jacksonville State got the "W."

In my view, they should have told Liberty before the ineligible pitcher started playing and tried to win with some dignity and class. Total bush league move to try to pull this. The coaches should consider law school because they probably like to argue.

Playoff games? What were the stakes?

How are the teams doing? Do they have history?

Not a playoff game. But that doesn't really matter. It's even more of a pitch move to eliminate an opponent on a technicality like that in the college world series or something.
