Date: December 20th, 2024 12:25 AM Author: wangfei n52 was the last bmw na straight six. it is a great reliable engine. i had the same engine years ago in an e60 528i. besides notorious oil leaks from valve cover, gaskets, etc around 80k, if you take care of those and do regular maintenance, the n52 will easily run 200k miles. i had 189k on mine before my daughter totaled it. there was a recent recall on the vanos bolts, take care of that. oh and replace the water pump at 80k too. just do it. The zenith I keep coming back to is the older chronomaster triple date moonphase. But i think it's too risky for a guy like me to buy a preowned watch with that many complications.
The only other watch i keep coming back to is the santos. A timeless beauty. My BIL is in town and wants to go watch shopping next week. I think we are going to hit up the short hills mall, so i'll get to try some stuff on and then agonize about this decision for a few more years. |

Also, the easy change system for the bracelet to straps and the easy no tool link removal system are both great. In house movement, sharp look, great history, sporty, enough water resistance to swim. Alternative would be to get a used galbee xl but then you miss out on the easy change bracelet and in house movement.
Feels like new medium in stainless steel is prob the right choice. would be great to get a discount. |

Date: December 20th, 2024 3:00 PM Author: Drunkard Z cars are criminally undervalued (except the Ms) and usually are in nice shape. I especially like the coupes, but save some money for a new softtop as they tend to die around the age yours is and if they leak it ruins the car pretty much.
Change the trans fluid and diff. Use the good stuff oils whatever the Internet says. Also, no more than 5k on engine oil services. Flush brake fluid. Finally, plan on a cooling system replacement (do it all).
My buddy got a Z3 and we did all that and a valve cover gasket and minus the brake fluid which looked new. It took us a day which was basically me showing him how to do everything and him doing the work. |
